At Marvin Electric, safety is always our top priority. As such, we have instituted several policies to make this priority a reality: OSHA training, Power Safe training and job site safety meetings. These efforts protect our employees by making them more safety-conscious workers, and they also protect our clients and company by increasing our OSHA compliance.

OSHA Training

All Marvin Electric employees complete a ten hour OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) training course. According to OSHA, there are approximately 30,000 nonfatal electrical shock accidents annually, about 10 percent of which result in days missed from work. Completing this training helps employees be aware of the dangers of their job and techniques to avoid them.

Power Safe Training

Power Safe describes itself as an “integrated comprehensive safety orientation and verification program,” and as such it is dedicated to providing utility-specific safety training. It also offers a system of monitoring the training of employees to ensure it has been completed as well as to provide records for use in annual contractor audits.

Job Site Safety Meetings

In addition to the formal training from OSHA and Power Safe, Marvin Electric conducts regular pre-shift safety meetings at each job site to discuss potential safety hazards and any concerns the employees may have. In addition to increasing education about potential dangers, these meetings help prevent any work-related injuries and promote a healthy and safety conscious staff.
